One Liners

I was perusing some reels on FaceBook (like you never have). I came across this comedian who did only one liners. I found them quite hilarious.

A one liner is defined as a very succinct joke or witticism; or a succinct or meaningful and especially accurate statement. Here are some one liners I have discovered, and forged in my life. They play very well into life and leadership.

  • If you can laugh at it, you can live with it

  • Stand up, speak up, shut up

  • Don’t have faith in faith, but have faith in God

  • Direction, not intention, determines destination

  • The decision to climb is easy; the decision to keep climbing is the difficult one

  • Beware of looking back at what you once were at the expense of looking to become what you have never been

  • Not until you’re at peace with death can you be at peace with life

  • Ultimately gravity will determine which way is down

  • I know you think you understood what was said, but what was said was not what you understood

  • Complain all you want, but be sure to have a suggested solution

  • Compromise is more than standing your ground until everyone else sees it your way

  • The older you get the better you were

  • Many places are within walking distance if you have the time and the stamina

  • When you are the leader wherever you sit is the head of the table

  • You may know it all, but it’s what you don’t know that causes problems

  • No one was ever stopped by falling down, only by staying down

  • If what you believe doesn’t result in action, check your beliefs

  • Listen up. Ask questions. Apply answers. Adjust as necessary

  • Knowledge is knowing what to do. Wisdom is doing what you know

  • Discernment is learning from the mistakes of others

  • Courage is the result of acting when afraid

  • Saying I’m sorry, forgive me, changes many a conflict

  • Stopping is often the beginning of a new start

What one liners have you stumbled across?
